Walking home tonight I suddenly remembered a conversation I had almost year ago with one cute Brazilian guy. The topic was “Could you marry somebody who has another nationality” as it usually means another language, culture, religion. I’m not taking about Russian-Ukrainian-Belarusian marriages. Even though it could be same problem with marriage insight the country as we have Orthodoxies, Catholics, Greek-Catholics, Muslims and more, and more.
But the question is could people who have different native languages communicate intimately. I’m not talking about all this “bed-stuff”. I mean could you learn another language good enough to explain you’re the most personal things? Or could you both put the same meaning in these words?
But could you do it in your mother tongue? I came with a memory of my ex-ex-ex boyfriend who has sad “I love you” after our very first kiss. And this was the moment I understood I put another meaning to this words. We split up less than a month after and I know there was nothing about love.
So can I be sure people I’m talking too feel and understand the same what I mean? And could person who doesn’t know any single Russian word understand what “love”, “pain”, “friend”, “loneness” mean too me?
